Winter (One month after Ordeith's arrival): Jaret Byer arrives at the Fortress of Light in Amador and informs Lord Captain Commander Pedron Niall of the events he witnessed at Falme, and of war in Tarabon, Arad Doman, and across Toman Head and Almoth Plain. Byer resumes his journey to Tar Valon. [TDR-H-xiv]

Niall berates Inquisitor Jaichim Carridin for his failure to seize control of Almoth Plain. Carridin is ordered to covertly support the newly proclaimed Dragon as part of Niall's secret plans to unite the nations under the leadership of the Children of the Light. [TDR-H-xxi]

Carridin, a Darkfriend, is ordered by a Myrddraal to kill Rand al'Thor within a month. [TDR-H-xxvii]

Circa: Liandrin and twelve other Aes Sedai of the Black Ajah (Joiya Byir, Amico Nagoyin, Chesmal Emry, Marillin Gemalphin, Jeane Caide, Temaile Kinderode, Eldrith Jhondar, Asne Zeramene, Rianna Andomeran, Berylla Naron, Falion Bhoda and Ispan Shefar) leave Tar Valon after pillaging a storeroom of ter'angreal relating to Tel'aran'rhiod. Three Aes Sedai, two Warders, and others in the White tower are killed. [TDR-H-126]

Late Winter / Early Spring: On the orders of Moiraine, Perrin and a group of Shienaran meet a woman named Leya and bring her to their camp in the Mountains of Mist. Leya brings news of the odd behavior of the Children of the Light and their refusal to engage the Dragonsworn. [TDR-H-7]

Night: Trollocs attack Rand's camp. Wolves, drawn by their hatred of the Twisted Ones and their connection with Perrin, come to the camp's aid. Rand is unable to control saidin or participate in the battle, but the Trollocs and Myrddraal are driven off. [TDR-H-40]

Dawn: Perrin awakes to find that Rand has left the camp in the night. A note left behind by Rand indicates that he intends to kill Ba'alzamon, and that he wishes to avoid harming those around him. [TDR-H-52]

Late Morning: Moiraine, Lan, Perrin and Loial set out in pursuit of Rand. Uno and the recuperating Shienarans are ordered to move towards Jehannah. Min is sent to Tar Valon in order to personally deliver a message from Moiraine to the Amyrlin Seat. [TDR-H-65]

After many days of travel Moiraine's group leaves the Mounts of Mist and enters Ghealdan. [TDR-H-69]

A few days after leaving the mountains Moiraine's party enters the village of Jarra. They discover that the village, through which Rand had passed through, had seen an extraordinary increase in the amount of marriages in the past two days. [TDR-H-71]

Perrin learns that his name is among a list of Darkfriends wanted by the Children of the Light. [TDR-H-83]

Rand, pursued by dogs, continues his solitary journey to Tear. [TDR-H-90]

Else Grinwell, a novice in the White Tower, is returned home to her family. [TDR-H-274]

Circa: The Council of Nine in Illian declare that no ship can sail to Tear, nor any ship from Tear dock at an Illian port. [TDR-H-415]

Early Spring: Approaching Tar Valon, Verin, Egwene, Nynaeve, Elayne, Mat and Hurin are temporarily waylaid by a group of the Children of the Light led by Dain Bornhald. [TDR-H-99]

Verin's party enters Tar Valon. Hurin parts company with the group and makes plans to return to Shienar. [TDR-H-109]

As Egwene, Elayne and Nynaeve are held in their quarters, Verin reports to Siuan Sanche, the Amyrlin Seat. Verin hands over the Horn of Valere for safekeeping. [TDR-H-117]

Nynaeve, Elayne and Egwene are brought before the Amyrlin Seat. They are told of Liandrin's flight from the Tower, and are assigned their punishment for leaving the Tower without permission. Elayne and Egwene are informed that they are to be raised to the Accepted. Egwene and Nynaeve are given the covert task of hunting down the Black Ajah who fled the Tower. [TDR-H-125]

An assassin attempts to kill Nynaeve and Egwene in the White Tower. A Gray Man, himself a victim of murder, is found nearby. [TDR-H-141]

Against the orders of the Amyrlin, Nynaeve and Egwene enlist the aid of Elayne in their hunt for the Black Ajah. [TDR-H-152]

A group of ten Aes Sedai lead by the Amyrlin heal Mat and break his bond to the Shadar Logoth dagger. [TDR-H-163]

Night: Mat, recuperating in the White Tower, is visited by Lanfear, who poses as the Lady Selene. She promises Mat wealth and glory should he trust and follow her. [TDR-H-174]

Night: Mat is visited by the Amyrlin Seat, who informs him that he is to stay in Tar Valon until he has completed his recuperation. He learns that he is linked to the Horn of Valere as long as he lives, and that the Aes Sedai plan to use him in the Last Battle. [TDR-H-180]

Night: Egwene learns of the World of Dreams, Tel'aran'rhiod, from Verin. She is given a ter'angreal once possessed by Corianin Nedeal, the last known Dreamer. [TDR-H-189]

Night: Elayne is raised to the Accepted. [TDR-H-219]

Night: Egwene takes her tests to become an Accepted. In spite of a problem with the ter'angreal used in the tests, Egwene survives and is raised to the Accepted. [TDR-H-196]

Morning: Egwene briefly encounters a woman in Tar Valon, Lanfear, whom she assumes is an Aes Sedai. [TDR-H-241]

Nynaeve, Egwene and Elayne investigate a storeroom containing the abandoned belongings of the thirteen Black Ajah who fled the White Tower. They find numerous references to Tear. [TDR-H-247]

Night: Egwene enters Tel'aran'rhiod using the ter'angreal given to her by Verin. She sees Perrin and Rand, and visits the Heart of the Stone in Tear. When she wakes she and the others decide to travel to Tear. [TDR-H-253]

Morning: Nynaeve, Egwene and Elayne visit Mat and convince him to carry a letter from Elayne to Queen Morgase in Caemlyn. Mat is given a letter from the Amyrlin that will allow him to leave Tar Valon. [TDR-H-263]

Nynaeve learns that the belongings of the Black Ajah had been searched and burned following their departure. She tells the Amyrlin, aware of Elayne's involvement, of their intention to travel to Tear in spite of believing it to be a Black Ajah trap. [TDR-H-274]

Before Dawn: Mat survives an assassination attempt by a Gray Man in Southharbor. [TDR-H-286]

Mat is reunited with Thom Merrilin, who agrees to accompany Mat to Caemlyn. [TDR-H-287]

Morning: Mat and Thom board Gray Gull, a Tairen sailing vessel. Mat buys their passage from Captain Huan Mallia. From Mallia they learn of High Lord Samon of Tear, a man intent on destroying Tar Valon and the Aes Sedai. [TDR-H-296]

Night: Gray Gull is boarded by men intent on killing Mat. Four of the six are killed, but Mat allows the other two to escape. [TDR-H-304]

Night: Rand, haunted by dreams of Shadowspan, his friends, and the sword Callandor, continues his journey to Tear. [TDR-H-307]

Moiraine's party continues to track Rand, whose influence as a ta'veren is seen in many villages along his path. [TDR-H-309]

Spring : Queen Morgase, under the influence of Lord Gaebril, exiles numerous leaders of strong and loyal houses including Lord Pelivar, Lord Abelle, Lady Arathelle, Lady Ellorien Traemane, Lady Aemlyn and Lord Luan. Others also leave Caemlyn as Gaebril slowly gains control of the city. [TFOH-H-251]

Two Hunters of the Horn, Lords Gann and Orban, fight two Aiel near Remen. They lose six of their ten retainers but manage to kill one of the Aiel, Sarien, and capture the other, Gaul. They later claim to have encountered twenty Aiel. [TDR-H-316-328]

Late Afternoon: Moiraine's party, traveling along the Lugard Road in Altara, arrives in the town of Remen and takes rooms at the Wayland's Forge. They learn of Gann and Orban's recent encounter with the Aiel. [TDR-H-312]

Moiraine and the others learn that Masema is preaching of the coming of the Dragon Reborn in Ghealdan. [TDR-H-320]

Night: Perrin releases a captured Aiel, Gaul of the Shaardad Aiel, being held in Remen. Gaul tells Perrin of his search for He Who Comes With the Dawn. Perrin is forced to defend himself against the Children of the Light. [TDR-H-326]

Night: Moiraine's party hurriedly leaves Remen and books passage on the sailing vessel Snow Goose. A woman, a Hunter of the Horn named Zarin "Faile" Bashere, joins the party, and Snow Goose sets off down the Manetherendrelle for Illian. [TDR-H-332]

Night: A party, a merchant and her guards by appearance, approaches Rand's campsite in Murandy. Rand responds by killing all eleven of them, and then immediately continues on towards Tear. [TDR-H-348]

Nynaeve, Egwene and Elayne travel down the River Erinin aboard Blue Crane. As the river flows past Cairhien they witness signs of the nation's civil war. [TDR-H-350]

Blue Crane runs aground of a sunken ship in the Erinin. Nynaeve, Egwene and Elayne disembark on the Cairhien side of the river and set out for the village of Jurene. [TDR-H-356]

Nynaeve, Egwene and Elayne encounter a group of Aiel—Aviendha, Bain, Chiad and Jolien—who seek assistance for a wounded comrade, Dailin. Aviendha reveals that they seek He Who Comes With the Dawn, whom they know to have been born outside the Aiel Waste. [TDR-H-360]

Continuing on to Jurene, Nynaeve, Egwene and Elayne are captured by a group of brigands who attempt to sell them to three Myrddraal. Later, at night, they are aided in their escape by the timely reappearance of Aviendha and a larger group Aiel. Dailin is among those killed by the Myrddraal. [TDR-H-374]

The Aiel escort Nynaeve, Egwene and Elayne to Jurene, and then depart to continue their search. Nynaeve and the others board a ship at Jurene, Darter, and proceed downriver to Tear. [TDR-H-384]

Late Afternoon: Mat and Thom, aboard Gray Gull, arrive at the town of Aringill in Andor. They witness a continual flow of refugees from Cairhien into Andor, and later arrange for beds in the stable of The Good Queen. [TDR-H-387]

Night: Mat defends a woman, former Illuminator Aludra, from men intent on killing her. Aludra goes on her way, and Mat and Thom are forced to leave the stable to avoid further trouble. [TDR-H-395]

Afternoon: Snow Goose arrives at Illian. Faile decides to stay with Moiraine and the others, believing that they will lead her to the Horn of Valere. [TDR-H-401]

Early Evening: Moiraine's party takes rooms at Easing the Badger. Innkeeper Nieda Sidoro tells Moiraine of the rapid appointment of Lord Brend to the Council of Nine, and of her own strange dreams of Brend. [TDR-H-411]

Evening: Six Gray Men unsuccessfully attempt to kill Perrin inside Easing the Badger. Moiraine responds by leaving the inn alone on a covert task. Evidence of a Darkhound is found close to the inn. [TDR-H-418]

Night: Moiraine returns and reveals that the Forsaken Sammael, posing as Lord Brend, rules Illian. The party immediately prepares to leave the city. Perrin is told that the Darkhound had been sent by Sammael, but that the Gray Men were sent by someone else. Faile learns that Rand is the Dragon Reborn and is told that she must remain with the party. [TDR-H-429]

Night: Fleeing Illian to the north, Moiraine's party is pursued by ten Darkhounds. Moiraine uses balefire to destroy the Darkhounds. The party resumes its journey to Tear. [TDR-H-432]

Night: Mat and Thom, camped near Caemlyn, are approached by a woman and three men who attempt to kill them. [TDR-H-437]

Morning: Mat and Thom arrive in Caemlyn. Unable to deliver Elayne's letter because of suspicious palace guards, Mat joins Thom at The Queen's Blessing. Mat learns of Queen Morgase's new advisor, Lord Gaebril, who has turned Caemlyn against the Aes Sedai. [TDR-H-441]

Mat sneaks into the Royal Palace grounds, and overhears Gaebril ordering the murder of Elayne and her companions. Entering the palace itself, Mat is taken to see Morgase by guardsman Tallanvor. Mat delivers the letter to Morgase, and sees that she is clearly under the influence of Gaebril. [TDR-H-451]

Midday: Mat returns to The Queen's Blessing. Innkeeper Basel Gill tells Mat about Gaebril, and of bad dreams he and others have had of Morgase's new advisor. Gill plans to spread rumors of Gaebril's intention to murder Elayne, and Thom agrees to travel to Tear with Mat. [TDR-H-462]

Afternoon: Darter, with Nynaeve, Egwene and Elayne aboard, arrives at Tear. [TDR-H-467]

Nynaeve arranges for rooms with Ailhuin Guenna, a Tairen wise woman. Nynaeve explains that she and the others are hunting Darkfriends who committed murder and theft. Guenna arranges for a thief-taker, Juilin Sandar, to assist them. [TDR-H-478]

Night: Egwene enters Tel'aran'rhiod and immediately finds Liandrin and the other twelve Black Ajah in the Stone of Tear. [TDR-H-486]

Night: Mat and Thom, aboard the sailing vessel Swift, arrive in Tear. They take rooms at The White Crescent, and then immediately begin a search for Lord Comar, Gaebril's assassin. [TDR-H-487]

Before Dawn: Mat finds Comar in an inn named The Golden Cup, and inadvertently kills him during a brawl. Before his death Comar reveals that others are also hunting Elayne, Nynaeve and Egwene. [TDR-H-491]

For more than three days Mat and Thom continue to search for Elayne and the others. [TDR-H-497]

Afternoon: Moiraine's party arrives in Tear and takes rooms in the inn The Star. [TDR-H-499]

Night: Moiraine reveals that Lord Samon, a High Lord of Tear, is the Forsaken Be'lal. She makes known her belief that Be'lal intends to allow Rand to take Callandor from the Heart of the Stone, and then seize the sword from Rand. [TDR-H-508]

Sandar reveals that the women Nynaeve and the others seek, the thirteen Black Ajah, are guests of Lord Samon in the Stone of Tear. Nynaeve returns to Guenna's home and is quickly captured by Liandrin and Rianna. Together with Elayne and Egwene, Nynaeve is taken to the Stone. [TDR-H-516]

Seeking aid for the ill Thom, Mat and Thom visit Mother Guenna. They learn that Nynaeve and the others were taken to the Stone only three hours ago. Leaving Thom behind, Mat makes his way to the Stone of Tear. [TDR-H-524]

Berelain, the First of Mayene, having been held in the Stone of Tear since late 998 NE, announces that she will submit to the rule of the High Lords. [TDR-H-530]

Evening: Moiraine reveals that Rand is in Tear, his influence as ta'veren having cause numerous strange events in the city. She indicates that many in the city have dreamt of Rand, or had nightmares due to the presence of Be'lal. [TDR-H-530]

Evening: Faile is caught in a trap, set by the Black Ajah, meant for Moiraine and Lan. Moiraine suspects that Faile might be trapped in Tel'aran'rhiod, and Perrin enters the trap in an attempt to save Faile. [TDR-H-532]

Night: Mat, trying to find a way into the Stone of Tear, is found by a group of Aiel including Rhuarc and Gaul. He also encounters Juilin Sandar, himself trying to gain access to the great fortress. Using fireworks given to him by Aludra, Mat blows a small hole in the Stone and enters the fortress, followed afterwards by Sandar. [TDR-H-538]

Night: Rand, having gained access to the Stone, continues on his quest to obtain Callandor. [TDR-H-545]

Night: Imprisoned in the Stone along with Nynaeve and Elayne, Egwene enters Tel'aran'rhiod. She finds a member of the Black Ajah, Joiya Byir, and discovers that she can channel in the World of Dreams in spite of being shielded in the real world. [TDR-H-548]

Night: Rand enters the Heart of the Stone, the chamber holding the sword Callandor. Be'lal appears and taunts Rand, urging him to take the sword. The two engage in a battle with Power-wrought swords. As Defenders of the Stone appear fighting Aiel, Moiraine arrives in the chamber and kills Be'lal with balefire. Responding to the arrival of Ba'alzamon in the Heart of the Stone, Rand takes Callandor. Ba'alzamon flees, and Rand sets out in pursuit. [TDR-H-554]

Night: Mat and Sandar rescue Nynaeve, Egwene and Elayne, who had managed to shield and still Amico Nagoyin, the black sister guarding them. [TDR-H-563]

Night: Perrin succeeds in releasing Faile from the trap holding her in Tel'aran'rhiod, and awakens in The Star. [TDR-H-566]

Night: Rand, unknowingly having entered Tel'aran'rhiod in body, battles with Ba'alzamon throughout the Stone of Tear. Rand, still unaware of his adversary's true identity as Ishamael, kills Ba'alzamon with Callandor, and then returns to the real world. Holding Callandor and proclaiming himself the Dragon Reborn, Rand orders an end to fighting in the Stone. [TDR-H-567 / TWORJTWOT-53]

The Dragon of the Banner is raised atop the Stone of Tear, thus fulfilling one of the Prophecies of the Dragon. [TDR-H-571]

Amongst the items of Power stored by the High Lords of Tear, Moiraine finds an unbroken cuendillar seal. [TDR-H-573]

Morning: Rhuarc reveals the Dragon mark from his visit to Rhuidean, and Moiraine realizes that the Aiel are the People of the Dragon. Egwene correctly theorizes that the man claiming to be Ba'alzamon may have been Ishamael. [TDR-H-574]

Eamon Valda, commanding the Children of the Light encamped around Tar Valon, orders most of his troops to leave the area. [TSR-H-24]
